Static websites remain the primary offering. WordPress fits businesses that need a publishing system. Managed applications support selected third-party tools, and technical consulting covers wider business technology.

Website decision guide

Managed static website or WordPress?

The useful difference is who needs to publish, how often the site changes, and which dynamic capabilities the business actually needs. Static is the simpler default. WordPress earns its added operating layer when the publishing need is real.

Fast, focused, and maintained

Managed Business Website

Service businesses, portfolios, campaigns, and public information that changes occasionally.

Where it wins
  • Fast edge delivery with a small software-maintenance surface.
  • Approved revisions live in Git and can be redeployed through the same release process.
  • Hosting starts at $10 per site per month after the build or migration.
Know the boundary
  • No client-facing editing dashboard is included today.
  • Content and design changes are separately scoped.
  • Dynamic checkout, user accounts, and custom server-side features need another solution.

Editable and extensible

Managed WordPress

Teams that publish frequently or need Editor access, plugins, blogs, galleries, or commerce.

Where it wins
  • Clients can make routine page and post updates through the WordPress Editor.
  • A mature publishing and plugin ecosystem supports richer dynamic requirements.
  • Managed care covers hosting, supported updates, monitoring, and minor monthly support.
Know the boundary
  • Its editing and plugin capabilities require more software maintenance than a streamlined business website.
  • WooCommerce setup, inventory work, and ongoing store operations are separately scoped.
  • Premium licenses and other third-party costs remain the client's responsibility.

Common questions

Plain answers before contact.

These answers define the current public offer. A written project scope confirms the exact responsibilities, price, and operating boundaries for each client.

Should I choose a managed business website or WordPress?

Choose a managed business website when your public content changes occasionally and you want SloanOps to handle the technical publishing process. Choose managed WordPress when your team needs its own editing dashboard, publishes frequently, or needs capabilities such as plugins, galleries, blogs, or commerce. The managed business website is built as a versioned static site, but you do not need to manage that technology yourself.

Can I edit my managed business website myself?

A client-facing editing dashboard is not included with the current offering. Changes are made through the versioned source and are quoted as a fixed, bounded change or approved hourly work. If direct routine editing is important today, WordPress may be the better fit.

Is e-commerce included with a WordPress build?

Not in the standard starting price. WooCommerce can be scoped around the business's catalog, payments, shipping, taxes, and operational needs. Product data, inventory management, fulfillment, and ongoing store operations are separate responsibilities unless the approved scope says otherwise.

Who owns my domain and content?

You do. The client remains the domain registrant and owns supplied content. When the domain-management add-on is selected, SloanOps handles registration, renewal, and website-related DNS while the client retains ownership.

How are changes and support requests handled?

Managed WordPress Care includes up to 30 minutes of minor support per calendar month. Fully Managed WordPress includes up to 8 hours of routine content management. Included time does not roll over. Clear finite work may receive a fixed quote; exploratory or evolving work is $125 per hour in one-hour increments after written approval.

When will SloanOps respond?

Standard questions and requests target acknowledgement within two business days during normal business hours. Completion timing depends on scope, approvals, and any third parties involved. Verified outage alerts come through monitoring and are prioritized for investigation.

How does website version recovery work?

Approved revisions to managed business websites are maintained in Git and deployed through a repeatable release process. A retained Git revision can be redeployed, and retained Cloudflare Worker deployments provide an additional rollback path. This version recovery does not promise restoration of external services, form submissions, email, databases, or other third-party data.
